A Friendly PDCC

Hey Friends!

Hope your Tuesday is going well so far.  Mine has been filled with errands, some crafty, some not.  I had to run to JoAnn's to get some fabric glue and hem tape for a few projects I am working on (me + fabric = always interesting).  Then it was off to Babies R Us for diapers. They set me back $45! Do you know how much crafty stuff I could buy with that? Then off to Petco because poor little Lucy was almost out of food, and how can I not feed this face?

Now we are back home for the afternoon.

I always love playing along at The Playdate Cafe, and this week was no exception.

While pastels aren't my go to palette, I did manage to pull something together.
Do you notice how I often enter these challenges at the last minute? Maybe someday I'll be ahead of schedule - a girl can dream!

I Love a Block Party

Well I am happy to report that we survived Irene. While it was not an easy experience (hours of tornado warnings with a few touchdowns not to far from us, heavy wind and rain, and no sleep), I am so thankful that we suffered no damage, aside from a very soggy yard and some fallen branches. In fact, the sun is out and shining as I type this!

Normally I wouldn't post twice in one day, but I really wanted to join in the fun over at Market Street Stamps.  They are hosting a Block Party - how fun! I love a good party.
This is one of the fastest cards I've made. Probably because I had the sketch on a post-it note stuck my lamp for like 3 weeks, so it was just a matter of putting it all together. Believe it or not I used 3 of their stamp sets for this simple card. The grid background, the sentiment, and I stamped little hearts within the big heart die cut.

Sadly, Irene did not post-pone my husbands fantasy football draft this evening so I'm flying solo with dinner and bedtime.  Hope you all have a great night!

Simple Thank You

I needed to make a quick thank you for a friend, so I whipped up this little mini-card.  I just white heat embossed the sentiment and peacock, added some pearls, and colored in with my Prismacolor pencils.

I'm scheduling this post ahead of time, so for all I know my house could be floating away as you read this! I'll (hopefully) be back Monday with a real-time post to update you on the crazy weekend weather.

Happy Friday Everyone!

What a strange week it has been. On Tuesday we had an earthquake, and this weekend, expecting a hurricane.  Things like this don't happen on the East Coast!

Needless to say, a State of Emergency was declared for us for the weekend. I feel like I should be more concerned. I mean, I did what I'm supposed to do: stock up on water and non-perishables, flashlights, batteries, back up battery for the sump pump is charged, brought all things inside, etc. They also said we should pack a bag incase we get evacuated, that I still need to do.  The husband and his dad checked our gutters and window wells this morning.  As of now, the worst isn't supposed to come until Sunday. I really just hope we don't lose power. 1.) I'd rather not craft by candlelight 2.) Being housebound with a 2 year old is hard enough with power some days. Some people are panicking, I am not (yet).

I wanted to get in a quick post before hand, just in case things get crazy.

Here is my card for the current Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

This is really different for me. I rarely use this much patterned paper on a card.  It's also pretty far from CAS, which makes me uncomfortable.  I feel like it's too 'busy'. It's a 5x5 card...and truth be told my plan is to frame it and hang in the baby's room along with some other wall art I've made.
