July Guest Designer: Heather Campbell!

Hello friends! I'm here today to share another project created by our July guest designer, Heather Campbell! She has already created some fabulous projects earlier in the month for our July release, and I'm so happy to be able to share more!

She created this fun and fresh card by combining On the Strip, Kindness Matters, Everyday Circles and Just Thinking of You. It really shows how all the Neat and Tangled sets work so well together!

Thank you so much Heather for joining us this month! It was awesome to have you!

Ink Splash!

It's an Ink Splash day here at Neat & Tangled!!!  Have you seen the latest stamp set from Neat & Tangled?  I'm loving these ink splash stamps!

Today, I've paired them up with my new Gelatos that I picked up while at Michael's.  I have been watching the videos that Kimberly Crawford posted with them and had to give them a try with the Ink Splash stamps!  Check out all her videos HERE.  Thanks Kimberly!

For my card, I used Kimberly's Day 2 ideas with stamping with Gelatos.  Basically, what I did here was color on a craft mat and spritzed the color with water and inked up my stamp!  Love the watercolor look!  My sentiment is from the Across the Card stamp set.  Thanks for joining me!!

Dressing up die cuts

Hello and TGIF friends!

Die cutting is a fun way to add interest to your paper projects, but sometimes plain paper cuts just need a little extra something.  Earlier the week, I needed to make a birthday card for my daughter's friend and nothing says Happy Summer Birthday like ice cream.  So I turned to my trusty Silhouette and die cut a cone and some scoops of ice cream.

Although the cuts look yummy, I still felt they were a bit boring, so I turned to my Neat and Tangled stamps: Sketchy Cupcakes and Little Tangles and added some sprinkles, swirls, and smiley faces.

From there, I assembled the card. I adhered the scoops and cone to an embossed panel of dark brown cardstock with foam tape.  I stamped the word bubble and sentiment, also from Sketchy Cupcakes onto white cardstock, trimmed and adhered to the card.  I am no artist, but I also drew a little tongue on the orange scoop of ice cream for a little whimsy.

Just think of all the fun ways you can use your stamps to dress up your die cuts!  That's all for me today!  Thanks for stopping by!

Katie

Hello, colorful!

_DSC0002

Hi there! It's Suzanne here today with a card that I  made during release week, but have been saving for today. I came across this image on Pinterest from Present&Correct and couldn't help but be inspired to try something like it on my own:

I used a banner die to trim all of the colored pieces, and then I glued them all together and diecut the center with a circle that was large enough to show the sentiment from Everyday Circles, which was heat embossed with white powder.

What do you think? Funky and super fun, right? Thanks for stopping by!

When one image inspires three cards!

Hi there!

Lately I've been a bit low on the ol' mojo front (and low on time too), so I've been turning to Pinterest a lot, to help give me ideas and inspiration.

It's amazing how the smallest element in a photo, can *zing* inspire me to create!

Today I'm sharing three cards I made, inspired by this photo from pinterest:

Now I love the entire scene honestly (I'd love to have it in my house! Look at that aqua typewriter!) but the thing that really stood out, is that fantastic, bright, colourful pom-pom string (or is it little lanterns?!) either way, it's freaking fabulous!

Here is the first card I made, I stayed fairly true to the photo, in that the circular elemetns are on the left side of the card.

As you can see, I also kept the aqua colouring (after this photo I decided to add two TEENY strips of yellow cardstock on either side of the white panel.)

I used Tim Holtz' Distress Paints to create the main panel. I simply rubbed some paint onto my craft sheet (just a thin layer, otherwise the lettering on the stamp gets filled with paint and wont show when you stamp), then rubbed the stamp in the paint, then stamped!

I used Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Broken China. LOVE these colours.

I love how the circles aren't perfect, they're kinda smudgy and smeared inside, but the outside line of the circle is SUPER crisp and clean. Happy Place.

From this card I moved onto this one (while I had all my supplies still out).

Everyday circles_birthday balloons

I suddenly realised that these circles would make super cute balloons! I'll be doing this again with another technique I've just thought of too (soon!)

Same technique, Distress Paints to stamp, but this time I added the string of the balloons (the swirls from the Fresh Blooms set) and the word 'birthday'.

Finally, I wanted to see how the distress paints would show up on kraft (hah, what did I expect other than FABULOUS?!)

Happy birthday balloons_kraft

Now I decided to add the white gel pen to the words and outline of the circles, purely for a different look. (FYI, you could very clearly see the stamp detail originally, without the white gel pen.)

OK! well that's it for me, I'd love to hear what kind of inspiration/mojo-boosters you use too!

Thanks so much for looking!

Linda

Happy, Happy Birthday!

Hello! Chari here today with a simple birthday card that uses the new Everyday Circles set and some yummy shadow inks.  Shadow inks are perfect for the solid stamps in this set and they blend together nicely when stamped on top of each other.

HappyBirthday

I created a bit of a gradient with different inks and used the outline circle to highlight the circle I wanted to be part of my sentiment.  Or course I embellished with clear sequins, a little shine that doesn't distract from the stamping.  Make these in a variety of colors and have birthday cards ready to go when you need them.

Textured Fun Blog Hop!

Hi friends! Danielle here for a fun blog hop today! Nina Yang (one of Neat and Tangled's own DT members!) has designed stamps and dies for Avery Elle and I couldn't be more excited to help show them off in this awesome hop!
You should have arrived from Nina's blog, which was the first stop.

Today we are all showcasing Texture Tiles: Be Cool, which is a perfect set for adding interest, creating background, and fun accents!

I am very into the mint and gold color combo at the moment, so I used it for this card.  I stamped the stripe tile in Delicata gold ink onto some mint cardstock - perfection!  I also used the little triangles to create the little border in gold as well.  The sentiment is from Neat and Tangled's Everyday Circles. Lastly, I added a few enamel dots and gold sequins and ta-da!  Hope you enjoy!
Hello

Hello! Close up
Nina is so kind and giving away prizes to 3 winners! Winners will be chosen from comments on all the blogs along the hop so be sure to leave some love at each stop!

Iron Craft!

Hi friends! Danielle here.

First, I wanted to say thank you all again for another fun release! I love reading all your comments, and now I am excited to see you put the new stamps to use :)

Now for some fun! A little while back Chaitali from Cuts, Crops and Creativity asked me if I'd like to do an Iron Craft match-up. Well, one of my favorite shows is Iron Chef so to combine that concept with crafting was a definite YES! The idea is we both us the same "ingredients" to create a card. For our challenge we used the Sparkle and Shine set, as well as some metallic sequins.

So fun!

So, here is what I made with the selected ingredients

Now be sure to head over to Chaitali's blog to see what she cooked up for you! Thank you so much, Chaitali, for inviting me to be a part of Iron Craft!
