Happy Turkey Day!

Hey everybody! Happy Friday! It's Taheerah here with a card to kick off your weekend!

I hope our US friends have been enjoying the Thanksgiving weekend! And hopefully you aren't sick of the sight of turkey as I have a fun turkey card for you today!!

Here's what I came up with:

Fun right?!

I wanted to create a card with a slightly unconventional colour scheme for this holiday, so I stamped the turkey from Turkey Talk and lightly watercoloured him! That journalling card-style panel he's on? That's the A Lot To Say die, die cut once, then rotated and passed through my Big Shot a second time to remove the 'tail' of the speech bubble!

I wanted a fun background for him so I masked him off and stamped the sentiments from My Plate Is Full to reinforce the message of Thanksgiving. Not forgetting the final sentiment from Turkey Talk itself! Some patterned paper, gold cord, and vellum helped giving the card a quirky finished look. :)

Just before I go, I wanted to mention/remind that we are having a special Black Friday/weekend sale! 30% off selected stamps and sequins - hurry over before they're all gone!

I hope this card brought some fun to your Thanksgiving weekend! Thanks for stopping by!

from our home to yours

It's Amy T here with a set of cards!

So do you send out holiday greetings?  If you do, are you creating them throughout the year or is it a mad frenzy in November?  Every year I have the best intentions but things don't generally pan out so I'm frantically making a bazillion cards in November.

What I learned over the years is keep it clean & simple!

I love the Winter Wishes set for it's awesome design and fun font!

Doesn't it look great heat embossed in white?

I made a mask with a sheet of light weight cardstock and laid it on top of my die cut panel.

I'm trying to keep my cards postal friendly so by incorporating that oval, it gives my card design a bit of visual interest.

I was going to use red/white twine but ended up using 4 different colors for added fun!

Let Our Lives Be Full

Hi! It's Jocelyn on the blog today.

It's Thanksgiving week in the U.S., and I was inspired to use the Be Full set. Instead of using the stamp as a Thanksgiving set, I wanted to use it for a thank you card that would work year-round.

Here's the finished card:

Thanks & Giving

Even though this card is pretty CAS, there are several layers. On top of the card base, I watercolored with spray mists. The mists have a great intensity. I used the watercoloring technique I learned from Yana. :)

Thanks & Giving

I didn't worry too much about how the watercoloring looked. Instead, I was going for loose blocks of colors.

While I was waiting for the watercoloring to dry, I die-cut a background from Wilna Furstenberg on my Cameo. While many backgrounds would work, the key is to die-cut it in white to contrast with the watercoloring.

Thanks & Giving

I die-cut part of a larger scene and simply trimmed off the edges for the final look.

For the third layer, I stamped the sentiment from the Be Full set on vellum, and heat embossed it with red glitter embossing powder.

Thanks & Giving

I trimmed down the layers and stitched the vellum to the backgrounds. The stitching allows the vellum to have a little lift at the bottom.

Thanks & Giving

So....does it work for a non-Thanksgiving card? Or do I need to send this card in the next two days? Ha!

Thanks for stopping by!

25 Days of Tags!

Hello friends! Danielle here! I am so excited to be a part of Tracey McNeely's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event this year!
She has TONS of tag inspiration and lots of prizes to win! Be sure to head to her blog for more details including a list of sponsors!

I'm so bad at making tags that say anything more than "to" and from". I love my white space so I really struggled with this haha! I also made a huge mess for one little old tag, you can see a picture of that on our Instagram page.

I decided to make a pretty shaker tag for my tag. A tag on a tag!  Here is a close up of the shaker tag - would you like to see a video of how I did this? If yes, let me know in the comments!
I added some of our pretty gold punchinella to the large background tag to add some interest, and stamped part of a sentiment from Winter Wishes (which will be back in stock any day now!) The patterned paper in the shaker is an old one from last Christmas, you could put in any paper you'd like!

Amy Tsuruta is also playing along today and has this fun tag using Warm Wishes!

To be entered in to Tracey's giveaway leave me a comment below and it will be entered into the drawing!

Have a great weekend :)
Danielle

Go and do amazing things

Hello, Neat & Tangled friends! Anna is here today with you, and I want to share my card, I made using newset Tiny Triangles die. It's so amazing and I love the die cut of it! So I decided to make it the main person of my card.

I made a die cut with this die, using mint cardstock. Moreover, some of the triangles I left in their places, and some of them are replaced by triangles cut from gold foil paper. The result was a stunning dynamic effect!

Stick it to your card with foam tape, and you'll have a great effect! I like, how paper, cardstock and sequins complement each other.

For sentiment I picked phrase "Go and do amazing things" from Origami Map set. I really like this set, the phrases are so good and font is just perfect! What is your favorite phrase from this set?

Used supplies: Origami Map, Tiny Triangles die, Festive Fall sequins mix.

Christmas stamps on a non-christmas card

Hi there, it's Christine!

Today I have a very quick and easy one-layer card that I made using the new Winter Wishes set along with the beautiful Origami Map from last months release.
It's all about color and image-combination. I picked houses, a plane and hearts with a nice sentiment and picked a rainbow color-range for a non-christmas card.

Having the hearts and the plane are a little off to the side to add a bit of interest and draw attention. Details can be easy but have a big impact. (And that's why the little grey corner on the yellow house drives me mad... YES is does!)

What kind of cards would you like to make using the little houses from Winter Wishes? Maybe you have some inspiration for me!

Hope you have a nice day!

Smiles.
Christine

Handmade Holiday Blog Hop - Day 2

Hello!  It's Amy here sharing a little holiday gift!

The embroidery hoop that I used is a petite 3 inches in diameter.  This project could be popped into a shadow bow or easily made into a tree ornament!

Here are some of the supplies that I gathered:

Embroidery Hoop
Neat & Tangled's Little Santa Girl
Scrapbook Adhesives
thesaurus

I die cut a circle from a very old thesaurus that I picked up from a junk store.

I love the "Peek-a-boo" look so I generally tend to stamp at an angle.

Pinterest is a great resource for different techniques, don't you agree?  I pinned THIS & THIS as inspiration.  Interestingly, the first pin actually uses white out instead of acrylic paint.  If I had white out, I would have used it since it is a self contained unit.  Self Contained meaning I didn't have to pull out my PINK acrylic block and paint brush and then have to clean said acrylic block and paint brush later.

In order to give more definition to Santa's Girl's face, I covered the text with a mixture of white and gold paint.

I refilled in her eyes and mouth with a fine tip sharpie and added pink cheeks.  I adhered the circle panel onto the hoop with Scrapbook Adhesives.  To bring out the wood hoop, I added a veneer snowflake.  For an added pop of color, I stamped the Happy Holidays banners on aqua cardstock.
